67% of TikTok users are under 24 while Instagram and YouTube attract older audiences
Two in three (67.0%) TikTok users are under the age of 24 while Instagram and YouTube lean towards older age groups, according to data from influencer marketing management company HypeAuditor.
Why it matters
YouTube, Instagram and TikTok this year are set to attract widespread investment from marketers, but each platform offers different audience demographics. TikTok's audience is younger while YouTube is split more evenly across age groups – 6.7% of users are older than 45, three times higher than Instagram (2.2%) and TikTok (2.0%).
