How the 4A’s is turning agencies into “enlightened” workplaces

The 4A’s (American Association of Advertising Agencies) is taking active steps to counter prejudice and bias within the agency sector, an effort spearheaded by its “Enlightened Workplace Certification” program.

In February 2018, the 4A’s (American Association of Advertising Agencies) unveiled a new program that seeks to boost diversity and inclusion within the marketing-communications sector.

The new “Enlightened Workplace Certification” is based on the principle that agencies are as vulnerable to the problems of prejudice and bias as enterprises in any other industry. And its momentum was inspired, at least in part, by allegations of sexual abuse raised against Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced movie mogul, that first entered the public consciousness in October 2017.
