Magazine advertising expenditure in the UK - inclusive of print and digital spend - amounted to £877m in 2016, according to data from the Advertising Association/WARC Expenditure Report. This represents a year-on-year fall of 6.8% from 2015, when total spend amounted to £941m. Print accounted for 57.8% of UK magazine publishers’ ad revenue last year, down from 70.1% in 2015 and 80.9% in 2011, when WARC began monitoring digital income.
