UK fashion retailers struggle to gain from e-commerce boost

UK fashion retailers have struggled to gain from higher e-commerce traffic during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, according to the latest data from WARC's sister company Retail Week, and The Smart Cube.

Visits to fashion websites had fallen by a third (33%) in the week of March 22nd when compared to the first week of February. While recovering by May, website visits in the first week of July were up just 1% compared to February.

In comparison, home and DIY websites have seen strong growth in website traffic since the end of March, peaking at 68% in the week...
