Two-thirds of the value of Chinese advertising has been generated over the last decade

Advertising expenditure in China stood at RMB518.1bn in 2017, according to data from WARC, CTR and iResearch included in WARC's Adspend Database and International Ad Forecast. This represents year-on-year growth of 12.9% from 2016, when total spend amounted to an estimated RMB459.0bn. Since 2008, Chinese adspend has increased every year, with particularly strong growth in 2008 (up 24.5% year-on-year).
