Over 15% of Asia Pacific has paid for online news

A breakdown of whether adults in Asia Pacific have paid for online news content.

Over 15% of adults (16.1%) in Asia Pacific paid for online news content in the last year, according to the latest data from the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. The lowest level recorded was in Japan, where only 10.5% of adults paid for online news. This may be higher, however, as Japan also recorded the highest value of 'don't know' responses.

South Korea was only slightly higher than Japan, at 10.9%, followed by Singapore (16.1%), Taiwan (17.6%), and Malaysia (18.1%). Australia and Hong Kong saw the greatest level of adults paying for online news content, at 20.3% and...
