Majority of strategists believe they have gained influence across agencies and clients this year

An overview of strategists' perceptions of planning within their agency and clients.

Since 2017, the majority of strategists believe that the planning function has more influence in their agency compared to the previous year, according to WARC’s Future of Strategy survey. This year, there was a small increase to 59%, compared to 55% in 2019, possibly as a result of the emphasis the COVID-19 pandemic has placed on internal collaboration, with strategists now working across a broader set of functions and teams. One respondent even called this a 'silver lining' of the pandemic.
