India has 200 million TikTok users and is the second largest influencer market on the platform, taking a 7.8% share, according to data from HypeAuditor.
That was until the Indian government banned TikTok and 58 other Chinese apps at the end of June over national security concerns. The country had been an area of growth for the platform, having attracted significant interest from both users and advertisers.
HypeAuditor also reports that the engagement rate of likes, comments and shares is 6% higher for Indian TikTok influencers than the global average.
