Half a million Americans browsed Amazon Prime Day and then went to Walmart

An overview of how many Americans browsed Amazon on Prime Day and then purchased something from another online retailer.

Amazon Prime Day gave a boost to other online retailers, according to the latest data from Hitwise. In the week covering Amazon Prime Day, over one-half of a million of Americans visited amazon.com, did not buy anything and then went onto Walmart to make a purchase.

Walmart was particularly attractive to consumers, offering comparable promotions for an additional day either side of Amazon Prime Day.

A number of other online retailers benefitted from the increased e-commerce engagement that Prime Day brings – Target snapped up 223.5 thousand Amazon browsers that week while Old Navy offered 50% off everything...
