Global advertising investment is forecast to rise by 12.6% this year to reach $665bn, overcoming the 5.4% cut last year and topping 2019 spend by $41bn. This is according to WARC Data's latest analysis report, Global Ad Trends: Ad Investment 2021/22.
Additional analysis from the report shows the ad market will top $700bn next year, driven by online investment.
Transport & tourism will be the quickest growing category this year, up 29.4%, in part due to steep cuts in 2020. Although further growth is expected next year, 2022's investment will still be below pre-pandemic levels.
