China is set to extend its lead as the largest video games market, according to PwC's latest Global Entertainment & Media Outlook: 2019-2023 report. Video games revenue in China is forecast to reach $34.90bn in 2023, above the $30.70bn forecast for the second-largest market, the US.
Video games revenue in China more than doubled (+112.1%) between 2014 and 2018, while the US saw strong but far slower growth (+45.7%). Indeed, China will top the $30bn mark by 2021, two years before the United States.
