Amazon added a billion monthly visits in August 2020

An overview of changes to Amazon web traffic across major countries during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

E-commerce giant Amazon added a billion monthly visits in August as a result of higher demand brought on by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, according to SimilarWeb data.

Across 16 countries, Singapore saw the quickest growth in web traffic between February and August 2020, doubling in size (+100%). Turkey (+75%) and Australia (+70%) follow, up by around three-quarters.

Some more established markets saw far slower growth, though. Italy and India saw growth of just 9%, while Germany and Japan rose 10% and 12% respectively. In comparison, traffic grew 29% in the US and 25% in the UK over this period.
