43% considering a new subscription during COVID-19 outbreak

An overview of new subscription services that UK and US consumers are considering in the face of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

One-fifth (18%) of consumers in the UK and US say they may now subscribe to Netflix for the first time, according to research from GlobalWebIndex. This is the most popular subscription service for consumers who didn't have it before the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Disney+ follows in popularity, with 14% of consumers saying they don't currently subscribe but are now considering it. Interestingly, Disney+ narrowly beats out Netflix in the UK, 15% to 14%.

Video platforms prove most common, taking the top three spots. Music follows closely behind, with Spotify tied-third (11%) and Amazon Prime Music next (10%)....
