Amazon smart speakers provide far greater functionality than Google devices, according to the latest data from Voicebot.ai. The number of Amazon Alexa Skills that users can enable on their device reached 56,750 in January 2019, 1,234% more than those available on Google Assistant devices. This follows Amazon's dominance in market share, accounting for two-thirds of all devices in the US.
However, the number of Google Assistant Actions has seen higher growth year-on-year. Between January 2018 and 2019, their number rose 147% to over 4,000, compared to Amazon's increase of 120%.
