An overview of online media consumption in the United States between 2012-2017.

The average US internet user (aged 16-64) registered daily online media consumption of 06:27 hours in 2016, according to data from GlobalWebIndex. This represents an increase of 00:47 from 2012, when consumption stood at 05:40. In 2017, online media consumption accounted for 53% of all media consumption in the US.

Of the five online media channels monitored, social networking accounted for the most time on 02:04 in 2017, 00:43 minutes more than next-placed streaming audio (01:20).
