Mobile second-screening tops four-fifths in India

Mobile second-screening in India has topped four-fifths, according to the latest data from GlobalWebIndex. Last year, 81% of adults said they use their mobile while watching TV, an increase of 22.7 percentage points (pp) from 2013. This puts India above the wider Asia Pacific average.

While both desktop and laptop PCs saw near continual decline between 2013 and 2017, both registered noticeable growth last year. Nearly one-quarter (23.0%) of Indians use their desktop PC while watching TV and this rises to 45.8% for laptop PCs. Overall levels of second-screening have remained relatively stable, varying...
