Majority of Indian press consumption is online

An overview of press consumption by platform in India between 2012 and 2018.

Online press has consistently accounted for more than half of total press consumption in India, according to the latest data from GlobalWebIndex. Online content accounted for 56.0% of all press consumption in 2018, equal to 55 minutes each day.

Indians spent a total of one hour and 39 minutes each day consuming press content last year, up 18 minutes from 2012. However, this is a drop from 2017 levels and reverses the growth seen since 2013.
