Public trust in search engine and emailing services to handle personal data is low across the UK, according to the latest data from GlobalWebIndex. One-third (33.2%) of internet users in the UK said they trusted search and email services to handle their personal data (an answer of one or two). Uncertainty whether they could be trusted was the most common single answer, averaging 37.4% across all respondents. This is despite the introduction of GDPR in attempt to alleviate data concerns and improve transparency.
