Chinese consumers are most likely to have delayed purchasing luxury items like designer clothes, according to the latest survey from GlobalWebIndex. In wave 4 (end of May), 35% of Chinese internet users said they had delayed purchasing luxury items, a proportion that has risen continuously from 20% during wave 1 (end of March).
Across the 20 global markets surveyed, consumers in China are most likely to delay luxury purchases. In comparison, just 12% of UK consumers are reporting the same and this falls to 10% for the US.
