Daily average media consumption in Australia has fallen to its lowest level, registering 9:31 (hours:minutes) in H1 2018, according to the latest data from GlobalWebIndex. This comes after 2016 saw consumption exceed 10 hours (10:05) and follows a path of decline since then.
All media have fallen since 2016, although print press and console gaming recorded the steepest declines, by 21.9% and 19.2% respectively. Compared to 2012, only online and console gaming are up, by 9.2% and 3.3% respectively. Online continues its dominance of media consumption in Australia, making up over half of the total since 2014.
