Over one-tenth of people are mobile-only, according to the latest data from YouGov and the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. Across 38 countries this year, 12.0% of internet users said they only use their smartphone. This is up 3.7 percentage points (pp) from last year and is forecast to reach nearly three-quarters by 2025.
Those in low-income households are more likely to only use a smartphone, at 16.5% of internet users. This compares to just 8.0% for high income. Year-on-year growth has also been quicker for low-income individuals.
