The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is likely to drive over half (57%) of Indian consumers to shop online, according to the latest data from McKinsey & Company.
While an average of 49% of consumers across 20 product categories said they shopped online before COVID-19, this is expected to rise by eight percentage points after the outbreak ends.
Four-fifths (81%) of consumers say they will buy home entertainment products online after COVID-19, up from 77% before the outbreak. Apparel also tops the list, at three-quarters (74%) after COVID-19, followed by 67% for non-food child products.
