North American sponsorship advertising expenditure is predicted to reach US$23.2bn in 2017, according to data from IEG and LLC. This represents year-on-year growth of 4.0% from 2016, when sponsorship advertising was valued at US$22.4bn. Sponsorship for the region has seen its value increase by 40.8% since 2009, when total spend amounted to US$16.5bn. It is the largest spending region globally, and is expected to account for a 36.9% share of total worldwide sponsorship revenues in 2017, forecast at US$62.8bn.
