Children aged 4 to 15 years old now spend as long on TikTok as they do on YouTube, according to the latest research from digital safety company Qustodio.
In the US, children spent 97 minutes on YouTube a day compared to 95 minutes on TikTok in March/April 2020. Although the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has increased use further, TikTok (82 minutes) was challenging YouTube (86 minutes) in February before the outbreak.
In comparison, 57 minutes was spent on YouTube per day in May 2019, compared to 38 minutes on TikTok.
