Advertising expenditure in Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) stood at US$ 18.5bn in 2016, according to data from WARC. This represents year-on-year growth of 7.2% from 2015, when total spend amounted to US$ 17.3bn. However, the region still has some way to go before it regains the level of advertising expenditure recorded before the global financial crash. In 2008, total adspend stood at US$ 26.0bn, but plummeted by 36.4% in 2009 to just US$ 16.6bn.
