Amazon earned more than $31bn from advertising in 2021, according to the latest company data.
The company earned $9.7bn from its various platforms, including e-commerce, Twitch and IMDb TV, in Q4 2021. This is an increase of 32.2% from the previous year, making advertising the quickest-growing business segment, behind only AWS (+39.5%).
This means Amazon earns more from advertising than YouTube, which recorded $8.6bn in revenue in Q4 2021.
