Alibaba mobile users forecast to top 700 million

Alibaba's mobile monthly active users (MAUs) of Chinese retail marketplaces is set to clear 700 million by the end of 2018, according to the latest company reports. If the 10.5% compound quarterly growth rate registered between Q3 2013 and 2018 continues into Q4, mobile MAUs will reach 736 million next quarter.

This follows strong and continued growth for Alibaba, with Q3 2018's mobile MAUs up 21.3% from the previous year to reach 666 million. Monthly users for Weixin/WeChat reached 1.1 billion, while QQ was stable at 803 million.
