Triopoly brushes off COVID-19 as ad revenue reaches new high

The triopoly of Alphabet, Amazon and Facebook have brushed off the damage of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and seen advertising revenue reach new highs, according to company reports.

The group of three earned $63.7bn from advertising in Q3 2020, just above the previous high of $63.5bn generated last year in the normally lucrative fourth quarter. With digital advertising showing no signs of slowing growth, the final three months of a turbulent 2020 look set to smash records again.
