Introducing innovative new treatments can be challenging, especially if they do not fit neatly with the current patient management paradigm.

In this example, the treatment is a novel gastrointestinal (GI) therapy marketed by Takeda. Whilst suitable patients are dispersed across multiple care settings, due to its unique administration and distribution, availability is currently via a limited number of centres. Asking physicians to refer to these specific centres requires them to adopt a new behaviour.
