L'Oréal, a beauty products brand, launched initiatives in India to ensure salons and professionals were prepared for the arrival of consumers as restrictions lifted amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Situation Analysis

With the announcement of the nationwide lockdown in March 2020, the 30,000-crore beauty services industry in India came to a standstill. Even when the lockdown was lifted, salons witnessed 30-40% fewer footfalls, while investments and costs continued to mount. Salon professionals began to lose jobs, and many shut down. With salon owners and professionals fazed with the future of their business and customers worried for their safety while visiting a salon, L'Oreal India stepped up to bridge the gap.
