Janssen Sciences Ireland UC: Grounded – Growing conversations around mental illness

Janssen, the pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson, educated the public on the serious nature of mental illness in Ireland by creating a garden at the Bloom Festival that inspired people to grow their conversations about it.

Introduction

'Grounded: Growing conversations around mental illness', was a national campaign co-created by Janssen, the pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson, in partnership with leading mental health patient groups Aware and See Change, to inspire conversations around the serious nature of mental illness in Ireland, reduce stigma and motivate those in need to seek help. Mental illness is regarded as a highly stigmatised disease in Ireland, proven by the fact that four in ten people in Ireland would conceal their diagnosis from their loved ones (See Change, 2017).
