"Stärker als Gewalt" (meaning "Stronger Than Violence") was established in 2019 on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. The initiative provides information and support for victims and perpetrators, helping to fight the violence and to help those affected.

Context

When Covid-19 hit, Germany was forced into lockdown, in order to protect its citizens from the virus.

After some weeks of lockdown, a disturbing trend had begun to emerge - domestic violence was on the increase.
