Planned Parenthood has come under intense pressure since the Republican Party assumed control of The White House and both chambers of Congressional in November 2016.
The non-profit, which was founded in October 1916, currently runs approximately 600 centers throughout the United States. More specifically, the New York-based organization delivers affordable reproductive healthcare services to 2.4 million people a year, as well as providing sex education to 1.5 million people – most of whom are either in middle school or high school – on an annual basis.
