Over 40% of Indian consumers are gaming and using digital payments more

Consumers in India are turning to online media streaming, digital payments and online games during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. At least 40% of respondents in a McKinsey & Company survey said they are doing these activities more or have started for the first time.

In the media category, 40% are streaming online media more and 11% have started. Playing online games also shows growth in use, at 27% and 14% respectively. One-third of consumers are using social platforms like TikTok and Instagram more (26%) or for the first time (8%).
