Tim Broadbent, who recently died of cancer at his home in Penang aged 61, will be remembered most obviously for his work on advertising effectiveness. He was proud to be the only person who won a Grand Prix more than once in the IPA Advertising Effectiveness Awards; later he became Convenor of the Judges for the Awards (a post originally held by his father, Simon Broadbent), and he chaired the IPA's Value of Advertising Committee for many years.
