Instagram advertising spend in the US rose by 19% in the third quarter of 2020, according to data from performance marketing agency Tinuiti. This is almost double the rate of increase on the Facebook platform, which rose 11% during the same period.
The Facebook platform alone accounted for three-quarters (76%) of total company advertising revenue in Q3. A quarter (23%) of platform ad impressions were on desktop devices in April – driven by stay-at-home orders – however, mobile app growth means desktop now accounts for just 5% of all Facebook ad impressions.
