Why digital-addicted Philippines spends the least online

Filipinos are the world’s most avid internet users, with the most time spent online at 10 hours and two minutes.

The nation has consistently clocked in the most time on social and been crowned the world’s ‘social media capital’. According to We Are Social and Hootsuite’s Digital 2019 report, which cited GlobalWebIndex figures from Q2 and Q3 2018, this currently tallies at four hours and 12 minutes daily.

The enthusiasm, though, seems a lot less apparent when the currency isn’t time, but money.
