Speaking at the Chief Digital Officers’ Summit held in Mumbai organised by the IAMAI - Internet & Mobile Association of India, TV Narendran, chief executive officer and managing director, Tata Steel, took the audience through the journey the huge, 112-year-old organisation has undertaken to embrace the tech and digital culture.

Narendran said the process of adopting IT began about five years ago at Tata Steel, when leadership acknowledged that while the steel industry was somewhat unchanged, there was still a need to understand the disruption taking place in other industries.
