Toyota might be one of the world's biggest automakers, but it is an unlikely harbinger for a new, futuristic business model that seeks to transform the retail industry.
The embodiment of the Totoya's revolutionary vision is, arguably, stranger still. More specifically, it is developing an electric, modular self-driving vehicle – called "e-Palette" – that can be customized depending on the commercial use a particular customer chooses. Given that these semi-transparent boxes will vary between four and seven meters in length, Toyota believes they are potentially the ideal venue for various retail activities.
