How brands can use emerging technologies to develop meaningful innovation was the theme of the day at Demystifying Innovation, an event held by digital agency Mirum in central London in January 2017.

According to PwC, the consulting firm, a staggering $680 billion was spent on innovation by its Global Innovation 1000 companies in 2016. Yet, as Tony Markovski, head of innovation and emerging technologies at Mirum pointed out, most innovation fails. Thus, R&D is usually a high-risk and high-cost exercise.
