The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has encouraged the trend of cord-cutting in the United States, according to the latest data from Savanta.
Nearly two-fifths (38%) of Americans use a TV streaming service and have a cable TV subscription, and 44% of this group say they would consider switching from cable TV to multiple streaming platforms.
In comparison, 41% of Americans with a TV streaming service don't have cable TV and a further 21% have cable TV but mainly use streaming services for watching content.
