Sexual harassment, discrimination and inequality: Time’s up for advertising, too

Addressing the issues facing society in the wake of the #MeToo movement, women in the advertising industry are calling for change.

At the beginning of 2018, more than 300 women in the entertainment industry launched a new effort aimed at addressing the systemic problem of sexual discrimination and inequality in workplaces across industries. Called Time's Up, the initiative began in the wake of the #MeToo movement, which gained traction late last year following sexual misconduct allegations from multiple women against Hollywood executive Harvey Weinstein.

Now, women in the advertising industry are taking their own stand with Time's Up/Advertising. The movement was born of conversations started in late January among a small group of women that quickly grew from 14 to 200...
