The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, a state agency in the US, encouraged families to visit by inventing a wearable laugh tracker that tracked children's laughs to prove good reviews.

The state of Tennessee was missing out on the lucrative family travel market. Most travelers rely on reviews to decide where to go and what to do. But the system has been corrupted and travelers don't trust them anymore.

So to attract families, the state of Tennessee created an entirely new review metric. One that's hard to fake: kid's laughter. And then invented the first wearable device that could turn it into travel reviews. We called it the Laugh Tracker.
