Right To Protein: 'Protein For Better Immunity'

Right to Protein, a communications and consumer advocacy initiative, launched its campaign Protein for Better Immunity in India to improve the nation's immunity by driving conversation surrounding nutrition.

Studies tell us that the bottom 25% of Indians, that is over 320 million people, consume only 1,800 calories a day and are undernourished. India also faces a second challenge, which is the quality of daily nutrition. Based on an EAT-Lancet report, Indians consume just 300 calories per day from protein instead of the recommended 900 calories per day and on the other hand over consume carbohydrates.

In fact, there is consensus that most Indians consume too much simple carbohydrates (rice and flour), and not enough proteins. The long-term consequences of lack of adequate protein consumption on public health...
