Right to Protein, a communications and consumer advocacy initiative, launched its public education campaign India Protein Day in India to encourage Indians to increase their protein intake.

The planet's most populated region and soon-to-be fifth largest economy faces a major paradoxical burden of undernutrition on one hand and obesity on the other for large sections of its burgeoning population.

While poverty, inflation and an increasing gap in income distribution are cited as key reasons, it's not only the poor that are malnourished. A shocking 50% of the richest and moderately rich also face the issue of malnourishment.
