Situation

As the CDC and other organizations, including the World Health Organization, applied restrictions discouraging travel due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, tourism to popular vacation destinations came to an abrupt halt.

Given the vital contribution the tourism industry brings to Puerto Rico's economy, the Island's Destination Marketing Organization, Discover Puerto Rico (DPR), knew that although travel wasn't possible, it was critical to keep the destination prominently in sight and top of mind to potential travelers.
