UN Women Australia, a nonprofit organisation for gender equality, increased awareness and showed Australians how far they still had to go to achieve gender equality with a social campaign that asked when will she be right.

The public awareness of the problem was not the issue, it was our response to it.

Apathy and complacency were setting in.

  • Share of organisations setting targets to increase women's representation on governing bodies has been flat at 8.0% for the last four years.
  • Across the board targets are becoming less common and less ambitious.
  • Organisations with a higher concentration of women tend to be the most apathetic in pushing for change.

The problem: We think we have done enough.
