Three needs-based trends in post-coronavirus consumerism that brands must address

During the 2020 Zee Melt conference, Victoria Loomes, head of premium content at TrendWatching UK shared insights on trends shaping the post-pandemic consumer.

As the COVID-19 lockdowns pan out, many pre-pandemic behaviours have accelerated and there have been several business pivots. However, despite all this change, we are still the same humans with the same human needs.

Victoria Loomes, head of premium content at TrendWatching UK outlined three trends, based on basic needs, that are driving change and innovation. “Brands need to think about how their innovations are serving those basic needs in new ways. We must look for the expectation gaps – that’s where you can hit the sweet spot of innovation,” she said.
