Background

Bodegas Barbadillo is a winery founded in 1821, one of the 10 oldest family-owned businesses in Spain. Barbadillo produces and sells top quality wines. Being world leader in sherry production, the company has received numerous awards, including having a wine listed in the 100 Best Wines of the World by Wine Spectator and being the first sherry winery to get 100 Parker points. Unfortunately, many recent and potential consumers may not be aware of these honors.

In an effort to elevate the brand's image in the marketplace, Bodegas Barbadillo decided to launch a special vintage wine in the ultra-luxury category.

National Context of the Campaign

This wine was commercially launched for the UK and International market, but at a branding level was aiming to leverage the image of Barbadillo in Spain. Barbadillo's name has different connotations in each country.
