This Adstats reveals the findings of new research from ESP into the global sponsorship market.

Advertising sponsorship spending is set to keep growing in 2018, by 4.5% in North America and 4.9% globally, according to new data from ESP. This would represent not only the third consecutive year of growth above 3.5%, but the third year sponsorship spending has outpaced advertising and marketing/promotion spend in North America - globally it would be the fourth. Set to rise from $23.1bn to $24.2bn in 2018, North American sponsorship is still dominated by sports, projected to rise to 17.05bn (70.5%), the largest gain of any property type.
